ABOUT

Sunny Postpartum was founded by Sarah Rush, a postpartum doula, holistic nutritionist, and queer parent of two. I provide personalised, inclusive, home-based postpartum care to birthing people and their families.

My work is rooted in practical support, emotional steadiness, and respect for each family’s unique needs during the postpartum period.

how i came to this work

Sunny Postpartum grew out of my own lived experience with the realities of fertility, pregnancy, miscarriage, breastfeeding, postpartum anxiety, and the ongoing work of parenting.

These experiences shaped my understanding of how vulnerable and transformative the postpartum period can be, and how essential it is for birthing parents to be genuinely supported. They deepened my commitment to offering steady, respectful care that helps families feel nourished, grounded, and capable as they welcome a new baby.

My approach prioritises nourishment, rest, practical support, and community as foundations for postpartum recovery. I am especially passionate about postpartum planning and meal preparation as tools to reduce stress and help families thrive.
